Nota Daily is a fast-moving online news and lifestyle magazine covering stories, photos, and pop culture content — with a focus on discovering interesting content and pushing stories that readers want to see. The brief was to design a high-volume magazine layout capable of presenting large amounts of new content daily in a way that was visually engaging, easy to navigate, and fast to browse on any device.
Online magazines live or die by their ability to surface the right content at the right moment. With dozens of new stories daily, the design had to prevent any single page feeling like an overwhelming wall of links, while still giving maximum content visibility.
The turquoise and white brand palette needed to read clearly at speed — this is a site users skim, not read linearly — and the layout had to prioritise the Blog of the Day editorial curation mechanic that differentiated the brand.
A clean, grid-based magazine layout was designed around a strong turquoise and white palette that felt fresh, modern, and editorial without being heavy. The homepage design led with a bold Blog of the Day feature slot — the brand’s key editorial mechanic — displayed prominently above a dynamic content grid.
Content was organised into clear visual rows by category, with consistent thumbnail sizing and typographic hierarchy that allowed rapid scanning. Multiple layout variants were designed to support different content densities and editorial modes.
Social sharing was considered throughout the design to support the viral content discovery model the brand was built on.
