Kinetic Edge is a bold action sports and fashion retailer selling clothing and accessories for men and women from leading brands including Billabong. The site needed to reflect the energy and lifestyle of the surf, skate, and snow scene — dynamic, colourful, and image-led — while functioning as a fully operational e-commerce store with new styles, sales, and deals updated regularly.
Action sports retail lives and dies by its visual identity. The target audience — young, active, brand-aware — will immediately dismiss a site that feels generic or corporate. The design needed to genuinely feel like it belonged in the action sports world: big imagery, bold layout decisions, and a sense of movement and energy.
At the same time, it needed to be a functional shop with product filtering, brand pages, and a reliable checkout.
A vibrant, high-energy design was built around full-width action photography — surfing, snowboarding, skating — that immersed the visitor in the lifestyle from the first scroll. The layout used a dynamic grid with overlapping elements and strong typographic headers, creating visual momentum through the page.
Brand pages, including Billabong, were given individual design treatments to maintain brand partnership integrity. The e-commerce structure supported multiple product categories — men’s, women’s, new arrivals, and sale — with clear filtering and product pages featuring multiple images, sizing, and related products.
A Facebook integration widget was incorporated to bridge social media activity with the main site, keeping the content feel fresh and community-driven.
