Jules Lang Glassware is a specialist retailer of handblown and manufactured glassware — supplying glasses, jugs, cutlery, and tableware to both trade and retail customers. The product range spans premium handcrafted pieces through to hospitality-grade commercial glassware from major industry brands including Arcoroc, Luminarc, RCR, Rona, HotCo, and Pyrex. The website needed to do justice to the visual quality of the products while functioning as an efficient, searchable e-commerce store for hospitality buyers and private collectors alike.
Glassware e-commerce has a specific challenge that few product categories share: the product is inherently transparent and highly dependent on high-resolution photography to communicate quality and craftsmanship. Standard e-commerce grid layouts with mediocre imagery completely fail glassware — the product disappears into the background.
The site also needed to serve two distinct audiences: trade and hospitality buyers who needed to navigate a large product catalogue efficiently, and retail and collector customers browsing for individual pieces of quality.
The design prioritised product photography above everything else. Clean white backgrounds and careful image treatment allowed the glass forms — the curves, the clarity, the reflections — to be the visual centrepiece on every product page. A neutral, elegant design palette complemented the product aesthetic without competing with it.
The WooCommerce build was structured around a clear category hierarchy — Hospitality, by glass type, by brand — with left-panel filtering enabling trade buyers to navigate efficiently to specific product types or price points. Individual product pages featured multiple views with pricing clearly displayed.
Prominent partner brand logos — Arcoroc, Luminarc, RCR, Rona, HotCo, Pyrex — were featured in both the header and footer to establish the quality of the supply chain. A trade and wholesale enquiry pathway was built into the architecture to support B2B customer acquisition alongside the standard retail purchase flow.
