SEO.

Search Engine Optimisation is all about making sure your website comes up as often as possible in Google searches when potential customers type in relevant keywords and phrases.

The higher you appear in results, the more likely it is that someone will view your website – the first step in turning visitors into customers.

When you think that search engines drive more than half of the online purchases, you can appreciate why having an effective SEO strategy is essential to your website’s success.

Coming out on top.

Ranking at or near the top on page one for relevant search terms will make your business look like a “Google-approved” market leader. This will, in turn, generate greater levels of targeted traffic to your website.

Of course, implementing effective SEO can be a time consuming and complex process. The ultimate goal is to get you to the top of Google.

How I do it.
Initial consultation & keywords.

Many agencies will promise to get you straight to the top of Google.

But except for incredibly niche markets with very specific search terms, this is usually an empty claim. As with most things, sound planning and groundwork bring the real results.

Before I start devising any SEO campaign for you, I will consult with you about identifying the most relevant keywords for your business and marketplace.

In my case, for instance, being a freelance web designer, I optimise for the phrase “freelance web designer” which receives 7,000 searches a month. But not “freelance website designer” which generates only 140 monthly searches.

My promise, using specialised software, is to only ever help you select relevant keywords which we are certain will drive targeted traffic to your site.

On-page SEO.

‘On-page’ is everything that goes on your site from what’s seen and written for viewing, to all the hidden HTML text and source coding.

Once you’ve approved your list of keywords, I will examine your site to ensure that it is fully optimised for these words and phrases.

Some techie stuff.

Then, all aspects of your website, including its architecture, alt tags, graphic-text, meta tags, internal link structure and sub-pages will be modified to be a spider and search bot friendly and accepted by search engine algorithms.

Optimising a website’s metadata and on-page content in this way is an essential early part of an SEO strategy that will also give the off-page campaign a greater chance of success.

Off-page SEO.

‘Off-page’ SEO is mostly about creating the kind of content throughout the web that will bring good levels of traffic to your site, and increase your web presence and Google ranking potential.

I will also implement an aggressive link building campaign including directory submissions, community website creation and social media integration.

Local SEO.

I understand the importance of optimising for local searches, especially with localised business services such as ‘Google Places’ growing in prominence.

These results can often deliver the most relevant visitors to your site.

So if you want to optimise for a keyword with a geographical suffix i.e. ‘widget stockists in Bristol’, I will submit your site to third-party review websites to ensure that you appear in Google’s map search results.

Analysis and Reports.

The web is a fast changing and dynamic marketplace. Using web analytics and traffic data, I constantly review the effectiveness of my SEO strategies to ensure that my clients are ranking highly for all their chosen keywords.

Also, Google Analytics allows me to track the behaviour of visitors to your site and I can link this activity to KPIs – Key Performance Indicators.

I’ll keep you constantly updated too, and I will send you a monthly report with details on where your website ranks and how it’s performing, so you can see the strategy effectiveness. I’ll also run weekly search engine monitoring to verify that your site is featuring on all of the major search engines.

PPC.

PPC or Pay Per Click adverts are the sponsored links you see at the top of search pages on Google above the organic search results. They allow you to quickly compete at the top of searches for the most valuable keywords.
Currently, it’s the most cost-effective form of any advertising channel for many businesses, because it can put you directly in front of customers searching for relevant services or products in your market.
